Personal Trainer

Ron Kennedy | Ron@ABSoluteFitnessNC.com
Ron Kennedy’s love for personal fitness began after his dad gave him the gift of a membership at a local health club. At the time, Ron was pursuing his personal best on the high school football team. The support and knowledge he got at the gym, along with the building of muscle, speed, agility and confidence was followed by his best football season.
Ron was hooked, so hooked; in college he changed his major from business administration to health and exercise science. Out of college he developed his career as a professional trainer. At each facility he honed and polished his vision of what would make the perfect workout facility. His main goal was for clients to see physical fitness as a life enhancing endeavor, and he wanted them to think of their gym as their second home and LOVE it.
When ABSolute Fitness NC became a reality, Ron desired to develop a vision to help clients stay in a healthy lifestyle permanently. Yet he discovered an aspect to fitness never before focused on so heavily…
The mental components needed to succeed in health, and how to teach and bring those tools out of all the people with whom he works. Ron believes that the mind is even more important to condition than the body. “The first step in creation is always thought, and by far the most important” he claims. “Without the commitment to success and the vigilance to see your choice through – over any discouraging events, over any obstacles or setbacks – realizing a goal is extremely difficult to achieve, if possible at all.” Ron prides himself as the team leader of ABSolute Fitness NC, and wants everyone that walks through those doors to immediately walk out a vastly improved person.

James Parker-Ashley | James@ABSoluteFitnessNC.com
Since the day his parents signed him up for the YMCA youth soccer league in Wilmington, NC, it was obvious that James had to be active to function at his best. It didn’t really matter what the activity was as a youth, if he was moving he was happy. His first encounter with fitness occurred on his tenth birthday, when his parents bought him a children’s weight set complete with a barbell, dumbbells and weights, which was something he had been begging his parents to get. From then on, he knew that fitness was not only something that he enjoyed but something that was important to him.
Having always played sports, primarily basketball, James knew the importance and benefits of being physically fit. What he learned while studying Kinesiology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro was that our society truly needs leaders who are ready to change and save the lives of people suffering due to unhealthy lifestyles. With his dedication to fitness, love of being around people, and need to help people, he knew this is what he was meant to do. His main goal is to not only help people get into better physical shape, but have them enjoy their experience so they never want to stop and never return to their sedentary lifestyle.
During the final year of his degree, James had an opportunity to do an internship with a local fitness center called ABSolute Fitness NC and instantly fell in love. He knew he had found a special place that shared his desire to not just get people in shape, but change lives; and he knew he had the means and abilities to do so. Here he learned and developed his craft while finishing college, and it was clear he had made the right decision. From the start, personal training has always been a cover for his real passion: improving the lives of those around him.
